Scholarship Recipients
The Purchasing Management
Association of Western New England held its 92st
annual Scholarship Golf Tournament on June 21st
at the Oak Ridge Golf Club. Nine students were
presented with scholarships which can be used toward any
college expense. These scholarships are possible
solely as a result of the generous support of our
business sponsors and volunteers.
Here are this year’s
winners:
Sara Boersig,
daughter of George and Nancy
Boersig, graduated from Westfield High School. She
is currently attending Springfield College, and plans to
become a physician’s assistant.
Timothy Boersig,
son of George & Nancy Boersig, graduated from Westfield
High School. He is attending Virginia Military
Institute, majoring in military pilot & civil
engineering.
Christopher Feyre,
son of Robin and Robert
Feyre, graduated from Westfield High School. He is
a student at Keene State College, pursuing a degree in
Safety Awareness.
Kelley Ingraham,
daughter of Gary and Mariann Ingraham, graduated from
Granby Junior/Senior High School. She plans to
attend Anna Maria College or Elms College, with the
eventual goal of becoming a secondary education teacher.
Alexandra Puffer,
daughter of Jeffrey Puffer and Maria Neves-Puffer,
graduated from Holyoke High School. She’s a
sophomore at Bridgewater State University, majoring in
Communications with a concentration in Journalism; she
intends to work in public relations.
Emily Puffer,
daughter of Jeffrey Puffer
and Maria Neves-Puffer, graduated from Holyoke High
School this year. She will be attending Worcester
State University, The Elms, or Springfield College.
Her career plan is in the field of speech pathology.
Jonathan Vantassel,
son of Philip and Lynne
Vantassel, is a student at Suffolk University Sawyer
School of Management and has just returned from a
semester in Madrid. He is pursuing studies that
will lead to a career in an international publishing
company.
Rachel Vaselacopoulos,
daughter of Nick &
Irene Vaselacopoulos, currently attends the Isenberg
School of Management at UMass. She has an
undeclared major as she explores the many opportunities
in the world of business.
Sarah Walachy,
daughter of Michael and Mary McGovern Walachy, attends
Roger Williams University and just returned from a
semester in South Afrida. She is majoring in
Psychology with a minor in Spanish Language, and plans a
career in clinical psychology.
